Residential Care Fees
- Our Residential Care Home aims to meet the needs of older people requiring long term or respite social care only. As a Charity for older persons with limited financial means the Home welcomes potential applicants currently living in Newcastle and the surrounding area who receive local authority funding. Each application is considered on its own merit
- The weekly fee for residential care is £436.00 - £486.00 (2011/2012). Fees include all personal care and accommodation - use of a single bedroom and en-suite (where appropriate) access to all shared facilities within the Home and lounges, dining rooms, bathrooms, toilets, gardens etc., all meals and laundry services
- Fees do not cover clothing and personal effects, hairdressing, newspapers/magazines, dry cleaning, personal outings & taxi fares, personal telephone calls or treatment by private chiropodist, optician or dentist
- Residents are required to pay their personal contribution towards their fees by weekly Standing Order
Maintenance Contribution
- The properties provided by the Trust are known as Almshouses and are available to older persons of limited financial means who are eligible beneficiaries of the Charity
- An almshouse resident occupies his/her home under a licence. The weekly maintenance contribution for an almshouse provided by the Trust is £60.00 (2009/2010)
- Based on an individual's personal financial circumstances he/she may qualify for Housing Benefit from the Local Authority
- Residents who are not receiving full Housing Benefit, which is paid direct to the Trust, are required to pay their maintenance contribution by monthly Standing Order
- Fees and Maintenance Contribution payments are reviewed annually
