10 one bedroom bungalows, purpose built for applicants with a disability

  • 10 one bed purpose built St Mary Magdalene bungalows for residents with an illness or infirmity
  • Situated within the grounds of the St Mary Magdalene & Holy Jesus Trust
  • Applications are invited from Freemen and non-Freemen applicants
  • Each bungalow has a living room, kitchen, bedroom and bathroom with specially adapted facilities
  • We aim to encourage residents to maintain their independence in accordance with their abilities and wishes
  • We provide personal care, practical assistance and social support to enable residents to remain in their own homes for as long as they are able
  • The services provided are registered, regulated and inspected by the Care Quality Commission
  • A copy of the latest inspection report can be obtained from the Trust or www.cqc.org.uk

Appointment Criteria

  • The same criteria for appointment applies as if an applicant is being considered for Freemen or non-Freemen accommodation. An applicant will also have an illness or infirmity which would warrant the allocation of this type of purpose built bungalow
  • In exceptional circumstances, a resident who lives outside of the area of benefit or who has not lived in the area of benefit for the required number of years but is otherwise qualified may be appointed. The number appointed under this arrangement must not exceed one third of the number of residents at any one time
  • The trustee reserves the right to transfer the non-disabled partner to alternative accommodation on site following the death of the disabled partner if the surviving partner does not have a medical condition which would require this type of property
